Integral LED carried out a retrofit lighting installation at the Radlett Lawn Tennis & Squash Club to boost their customers' experience during squash activities of different kinds and levels of ability.
Following the development of a dedicated lighting design plan, the outdated fluorescent luminaires were replaced by much more efficient LED battens. This enhanced the player experience and increased ball visibility. It also fully complied with the court lighting requirements set by England Squash.
Court Lighting Requirements for Squash
England Squash, the national governing body for squash in England, recommends a minimum lighting standard of 400lux for recreational play (measured at 1000mm above the floor) and 500lux for competition play. Additionally, the light fittings have to be robust enough to withstand ball impact.
After the lighting upgrade, the Integral LED team carefully performed both horizontal and vertical lighting measurement assessments. This made sure the lighting was complying with the recommended minimum requirements.
